1948

  • Premio Nadal, in its fourth summon-1947-, for his first novel, “Lasombra del ciprés es alargada” (“The shape of the cypress is long”).

1955

  • Premio Nacional de Literaura for his fifth novel “Diario de un cazador” (“Diary of a hunter”).

1957

  • Premio Fastenrath of the Real Academia Española for “Siestas con viento sur” (“Naps with the South wind”), this novel is formed by four short essays: “La mortaja”, “Los nogales”, “Los raíles” and “El Loco”.

1962

  • Premio de la Crítica in its castillian narrative category, awarded by the Spanish Association of Critiques for his eighth novel “Las Ratas” (“the Rats”).

1964

  • He obtains a Fulbright grant which he takes at the University of Maryland in the United States.

1973

  • He becomes a member of the Real Academia Española to occupy the chair with the letter lower case “e”. He becomes part of this Academic Corporation on the 25th of May of 1975.
  • He becomes a member of the Hispanic society of America.

1980

  • The seventh National Congress of Bookmakers that took place in June in Valladolid, plays tribute to the writer.

1982

  • Premio Príncipe de Asturias de la Letras, this award was shared with Gonzalo Torrente Ballester.

1983

  • He is named Doctor honoris causa by the University of Valladolid.

1984

  • Premio de la Letras of la Junta de Castilla y León in its first edition.
  • Named autor of the year and Golden Book of the Spanish Bookmakers.
  • “Vida Sana” award given by the Association Vida Sana and that promotes the development of of the biological culture.

1985

  • Premio de periodismo “Ramón Godó Lallana” in its 21st edition and for its press article “Juventu y novella”.
  • He is named Chevalier de I´ordre des Arts et Lettres by the Government of the French Republic.

1986

  • He is named Hijo Predilecto of the city of Valladolid.

1987

  • He is named Doctor honoris causa by the UniversidadComplutense of Madrid.

1988

  • Premio “Air Inter” to the best foreign novel published in France in 1987 for “Cinq heures avec Mario” at the II Book Congress of Bordeaux.

1990

  • He is named Doctor honoris causa by the University of Sarre, Germany.

1991

  • Premio Nacinal de las Letras Españolas awarded by the Culture Ministry.

1992

  • Premio “Amigos de laTierra 92”, given by the International Ecologist Association “Amigos de la Tierra 92”. He is awarded by his “contributution to the knowledge of our region and a propper use of the castellana language” by the Cámara de Contratistas of Catilla y León.

1993

  • Premio de Teatro”Rojas Zorrilla” to the best play  by a living autor, correspondant to the year 1992, for the theater play adaptation of “Las guerras de nuestros antepasados” (“Wars of our ancestors”).
  • ”). Golden medal from the province of Valladolid.
  • Delibes receives “la Espiga de Oro” in the 38th International cinema week of Valladolid (SEMINCI) for his contributuion to the cinema with his literature.
  • Lietrature Prize in Castellana language “Miguel de Cervantes” which is the maximum honor a writer can receive in Spain. Delibes receives this award from the hands of the King of Spain, Juan Carlos I, on the 25th of April of 1994 in Alcalá de Henares.
  • Member of honour of the Pediatric Society of Asturias, Cantabria and Castilla y León.

1995

  • Readers award fron the ELLE magazine, for his novel “Diario de un jubilado” (“Diary of a retired man”.

1996

  • He is named Doctor Honoris Causa at the University of Alcalá de Henares.

1997

  • I Prize “Luka Brajnovic” of the Communication at the University of Navarra.

1999

  • National Essay Prize awarded by the Ministry of Culture for his novel “EL Hereje” (“Heretic”).
  • Golden Medal to the working Merit as an acknowledgment of the Government cabinet on the 30th of April.

2000

  • Tribute to Miguel Delibes at the Book Fair of Valladolid, where there was a public reading of the “Heretic” by some authorities and people from Valladolid.
  • “Cid de Honor” for his contribution to the cinema at the 29th  Film and Literature Festival in Burgos.

2001

  • His recives the Premio Extraordinario as an acknowledgement at the Castellanos y Leoneses in the World Awards (Junta de Castilla y León and the newspaper El Mundo) in its first edition.
  • Prize “Por un Mundo Rural Vivo”, given by the Institute of Common Development (IDC) for dignifying of the rural life.

2002

  • .  Medal from the Theater Directors of Spain (ADE) as an aknoledgment to Delibes´ contribution to the Contemporary Spanish Theater.
  • Prize “Por un medio rural Vivo”, given by the Institute of Common Development (IDC) for dignifying the rural life.

2006

  • Prize VOCENTO to the Human Values on the 17th of October in the city of Valladolid, he received this award from the hands of the King and Queen of Spain.

2007

  • Prize “Quijote” given by the Writers Association of Spain.

2008

  • He is named Doctor Honoris Causa at the University of Salamanca proposal made by the Animal Biology Department of the Faculty of Biology.
  • Tribute payed by the Town Hall of Ávila on the 60th anniversary of the novel “La sombra del ciprés es alargada” which is set in this town.

2009

  • He is named “Adopted Son” of Molledo Portolín- small town in the region of Cantabria in which the novel “The Path” is set and that also has a special connection with the author. A street with is name is “opened”.
  • Prize “Dragona Iberia” to the artistic expression given by the Foundation Nueva Cultura del Agua “because he explained in his works our relationship with nature using a universal language: feeling and memory”.
  • Golden Medal of Castilla y León given by the Junta de Castilla y León.
  • Golden Medal to the Touristic Merit of Cantabria since “he is tha grandson of a woman from Cantabria from Molledo de Portolín and because he contributed to spread the knowledge of our traditions and culture throughout novels such as “The Path” and “My life in the fresh air”.
